Baby Feed: Privacy Policy
Last updated November 5, 2026
Baby Feed is built so that we never see your family's records. This page says what the app keeps, where, and what the one small service we run does.
Your records stay with you
Everything you log (feeds, diaper changes, sleep, pumping, medicine, temperature, vaccines and appointments, weight, height and head circumference, notes, and your babies' names, dates of birth and photos) is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit), with the settings that belong to each baby. We cannot read it, and Apple keeps it under Apple's privacy terms. If you are not signed in to iCloud, your records stay on your device only.
What stays on your device
Some things never leave the device they were made on: your preferences (units and reminders), the milk stash's start day, starting amounts and corrections, your white noise recordings, and the copies of records you deleted. The app also reads your device's language and region, on the device, for units, dates and the vaccine schedule it suggests.
Like the app's other data on your device, all of this is included in your device's own backup (iCloud Backup or a computer) if you make one. Files you export, a spreadsheet or a PDF report, are made on your device and go only where you send them.
The microphone and your recordings
If you record a sound of your own for white noise, the app uses the microphone only while you record, and only after you allow it. The recording is kept on your device: it is not synced through iCloud, and it is never sent to your partner or to us. Delete it in the app to remove it from your device; a backup made before keeps its copy until that backup is replaced.
Records you delete
When you delete a record, the app keeps a copy of it on that device for 30 days, so that you can undo the deletion or restore the record from Settings → Recently deleted. The copy is not synced through iCloud and is never sent to your partner or to us. After 30 days it is removed; you can also remove it at once in Recently deleted. Deleting a baby, or leaving a shared one, removes the copies of its records.
Sharing with a partner
When you share a baby, its records are shared through iCloud directly between your account and the person you invite, using Apple's sharing. We are not in the middle and do not receive the records. Leaving a shared baby removes it from your device only; the records stay with the person who shared it.
Notifications, widgets, Apple Watch and Siri
Reminders and the weekly summary are notifications the app schedules on your device; they are not sent from a server. Widgets, Control Center and your Apple Watch show what the app passes to them on your own devices. When you ask Siri about your records, the app answers on your iPhone from its own data; your spoken request is handled by Apple under Apple's terms.
To warn you when your records are not reaching iCloud, the app checks on your device whether you are signed in to iCloud and whether your iCloud storage is full. This is not sent anywhere.
The Live Activity relay
So that your partner's iPhone can show the Live Activity for a feed, sleep or pump you started, the app sends a small message to a server we run (push.journaltoday.app). That server stores only: a random identifier for the app installation, Apple push tokens, the identifiers of the babies the device shows, the major iOS version number, and the time of the last contact; and for one day after a feed, sleep or pump is stopped, that record's random identifier, so that a phone that was asleep can still be told to end it. To word the notification it receives the kind of record, its start and end time, the type (for example “Bottle”) and the baby's first name, and does not keep them. Entries unused for 60 days are deleted. Nothing there identifies you as a person.
What we do not do
- No account or sign-up.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. The app contacts only Apple's services and our relay.
- No selling or sharing of data with anyone.
Purchases
The optional “Thanks” purchases, two one-time purchases and a monthly subscription, are handled by Apple's App Store; we receive no payment details. Subscriptions renew automatically and can be cancelled in your Apple Account settings.
Children
Baby Feed is used by parents and caregivers. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children; the records you keep about your baby stay in your own iCloud account, as described above.
Deleting your data
Delete a baby in the app to delete its records from your device and your iCloud account. Deleting the app removes its data from the device; your iCloud data can be managed in Settings → your name → iCloud. To have the relay forget your device, write to support@journaltoday.app, or simply stop using the app: its entries expire by themselves.
This website
